Meet Your Instructors
Alex Woodbury
Alex grew up in the industry, learning from her mother, Linda Lee. Her studies have taken her from Counseling to Fashion Design, studying in Paris and on to London at London College of Fashion where she completed her Masters' in Fashion Entrepreneurship and Innovation. She helps manage The Sewing Workshop, is host to virtual and in-person events, produces embroidery designs and creates various content across multiple platforms.
Linda Lee
Linda’s training and experience in fitting skills and fine sewing techniques has led her to become a household name in the world of garment sewing. She began her sewing journey at a very young age sewing doll clothes and, by the sixth grade, she had begun her first business venture by making and selling felt beanie hats for $1 each. She soon expanded her line with dirndl skirts and a career was born. Her formal training began at Kansas State University with a degree in Interior Design which included two years as a Clothing and Textiles major. She has designed patterns under the name of The Sewing Workshop for over 35 years and was inducted into the American Sewing Guild Hall of Fame in 2019.

What kinds of patterns are available as a Sew Confident! member?
Each monthly project will present a fashion-forward garment that features interesting sewing techniques and designer details. Basic members will receive a discount on a select beginner-friendly patterns, including tops, pants, jackets, and more. Savvy and Elite members will receive a free garment pattern each month from The Sewing Workshop Vault collection, or the current Sewing Workshop pattern collection. The Vault patterns are out-of-print designs that have been re-imagined and brought back exclusively for our Sew Confident members (the patterns won't be available to the public for one year). The patterns will include a mix of tops, pants, coats, jackets, and more. The Saavy and Elite membership collection was designed with ensembles in mind. Savvy and Elite members will also receive a discount code that can be used for any pattern in The Sewing Workshop Collection.

How does the Sew Confident! membership work?
Sew Confident! Features two membership billing options, monthly, and yearly. The Basic and Savvy Memberships are billed monthly and will renew on the same day of each month that you started your membership. For instance, if you joined on January 3rd, you will be billed on February 3rd, March 3rd, etc. The Elite plan is billed yearly and will renew on the same day of the following year after your initial sign-up. For instance, if you joined on January 3rd, 2026, you will be billed again for your Elite membership on January 3rd, 2027. Upon signup, Basic Members will have access to a selection of discounted patterns and an accompanying Resource Library. Savvy and Elite members will receive access to the new monthly project downloads, educational content, and the dates for the live events. They also receive access to community pages and added virtual events.

When do I start receiving my free patterns?
Free patterns are exclusively part of the Savvy and Elite memberships. Once you register for one of those membership options, you get access to the free pattern in the month you join. You do not get access to any pattern from a previous month unless you were an active Sew Confident member.

How to do I access my free pattern each month?
The free patterns will be available to download on the first of each month for Savvy and Elite members. We recommend you download the pattern right away. Access to the free monthly pattern ends when the new pattern is launched the following month.

Can I buy a pattern without signing up for a membership?
Existing patterns from The Sewing Workshop collection will be featured in all membership plans, and can be purchased at SewingWorkshop.com. Projects from these patterns will be variations of the existing pattern. The Vault Collection patterns featured in the Savvy and Elite memberships are exclusive to those members of Sew Confident! for one year after their release.

How do I access my patterns and membership content?
To access your available patterns and content, please make sure you are logged into your Sew Confident! account. From there you will be provided with links to access the monthly library. Here you will be able to see all patterns available with your membership.

How do I print my PDF patterns?
The Sewing Workshop offers PDF pattern printing for $13.99 a pattern. Copy and paste this link to use our in-house printing service and select the pattern from the dropdown box. sewingworkshop.com/shop/PDF-Pattern-Printing-p544096026 Please note: The print is just the pattern, not the instructions. Please be sure to download and print those instructions at home. While you may choose to print the pattern, be sure to download the pattern files to your computer, in case you want to access them in the future. Also, note that each pattern includes a Home Printer file option so you can print them at home.

Can I access patterns and tutorials after I cancel my membership?
Patterns and PDF tutorials can only be accessed if they have been downloaded to your device. Before canceling your membership, make sure to download all available patterns and PDF tutorials that are available to download. Some content is only available within your membership portal and not available to download. As a Savvy or Elite member, we recommend downloading patterns each month from the Sew Confident! platform. Before canceling your membership, make sure to download all available patterns. Downloading them will save them to your device. If you cancel your membership before downloading patterns to your account, you will lose access to them. We cannot provide access to patterns and tutorials if you failed to download them while you were an active Sew Confident member. As a best practice, we recommend you immediately download your pattern and any downloadable tutorial each month as a Savvy or Elite member.

What is the refund and cancellation policy?
If you do not want to renew a Sew Confident! subscription you can cancel it at anytime. To cancel or amend your subscription, simply visit your account page where you can make changes in your Membership Admin area. Basic and Savvy monthly subscriptions can be canceled at any time, and will not renew for the following month. Elite subscriptions are for the entire year, regardless if you choose to cancel before your year is up. If you cancel an annual subscription, your plan will not renew for the following calendar year - please note that it will not end your current subscription. Since all products and content with a Sew Confident! subscription are available immediately when you sign up, both monthly and annual plans are non-refundable since they are billed in advance.
